Rejection Letters
Cutting Off Contact Friend Negative

Dear {Name},

I'm writing this letter to let you know that I think it would be better for both of us if we took a step away from this friendship. I don't ever want to undercut or discredit the relationship we had for so long, as I think it was a wonderful and supportive time in my life. I just think that our situation has grown too resentful and toxic to continue.

I know that communication has been breaking down for a while now, but I'm not happy with the way I feel when we hang out. I feel dismissed, unheard and attacked so much of the time that it keeps me up at night with worries and concerns that I never feel comfortable voicing.

I know that I haven't behaved well at times either, so maybe this is a sign that the people we've become are just not compatible any longer. I really appreciate all you've done for me over the years, but now I'm done.
